Reinvesting in Shoreline Economies and Ecosystems (RISEE) Act will direct more benefits to communities with offshore wind
WASHINGTON, DC – National business association Advanced Energy United is proud to endorse S.373, the Reinvesting in Shoreline Economies and Ecosystems (RISEE) Act, which was introduced by Senators Whitehouse and Cassidy.
Harrison Godfrey, Managing Director at Advanced Energy United, released the following statement of support for the legislation:
“This bipartisan legislation ensures that states and localities throughout the U.S. – on the coasts, around the Great Lakes, and along America’s inland waterways – will see greater benefits from the development of offshore wind and other energy resources. Under the RISEE Act, more revenues from offshore development will flow to states and localities, helping them build more resilient infrastructure, recover from extreme weather, and conserve fisheries and other ecosystems critical to their economies. By ensuring more stakeholders benefit from offshore energy development, this legislation will serve to strengthen U.S. energy dominance, while meeting growing demand for reliable, affordable, and clean power.”
Advanced Energy United expresses its appreciation to the leadership of Senators Whitehouse and Cassidy in developing this bill, and urges both chambers to move swiftly towards passage.

“With these awards the Energy Department is addressing some of the most acute challenges facing our energy system, including the need to connect more clean energy to the power grid and making the grid more efficient,” said Harry Godfrey, Managing Director of Federal Investment & Manufacturing at national business association Advanced Energy United. “The best way to cost-effectively meet growing energy demand is with advanced energy technologies, including advanced transmission technologies, long-duration storage, microgrids, and more. The continued success of this program, for which DOE received far more applications than there are dollars available, demonstrates the continued, bipartisan appeal of building an affordable, reliable, and clean grid to power America’s homes and businesses into the 21st century.”
