Letter to the Editor: EPA's Clean Power Plan will cut emissions, save money

"Advanced Energy Economy disagrees with the editorial’s assertion that the Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Power Plan represents 'a cumbersome and expensive way to slash emissions,'" writes Malcom Woolf, AEE's senior vice president of policy and government affairs, in a  Letter to the Editor in today's Washington Post . "The EPA’s proposal underestimates available technologies that have proved cost-effective in reducing greenhouse gases and fails to take into account the technological progress that will occur by 2030. SACRAMENTO – Nearly 300 of California’s top energy officials, industry leaders, policy makers and company representatives met yesterday in Sacramento at the second annual Advanced Energy Economy (AEE) Pathway to 2050 conference. The full day event featured speakers who addressed how California can create a prosperous economy while reducing greenhouse gas emissions 80 percent below 1990 levels by 2050.
