WASHINGTON, D.C., Jan. 23, 2019 – Today national business group Advanced Energy Economy (AEE) announced it has appointed Allison Ingram as senior vice president for finance and operations, effective Feb. 11. She will be based in the business group’s Washington office.

Allison comes to AEE with executive financial management experience, most recently as the director of finance, administration, and operations for the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), which serves 29,000 members. Previously, she was vice president of finance and administration for the National Society of Accountants.

Shared microgrids can help building owners lower costs and boost resilience, but big questions need to be sorted out first on how the systems operate. 

While still a fledgling market, shared microgrids — sometimes called multi-user microgrids — are gaining increased attention from researchers and industry players. As with single-user microgrids, the systems combine some type of energy storage and generation with technology that allows them to separate from the larger grid in the event of a power outage or other disruption.
