Advanced Energy United Congratulates Confirmed Utility Commissioners

Marissa Paslick Gillett and David Arconti bring deep expertise and proven leadership to PURA 

HARTFORD, CT – Advanced Energy United congratulates David Arconti and Marissa Paslick Gillett on their confirmation today to Connecticut’s Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA).  

“Strong leadership at PURA is essential to providing a modern, and cost-effective energy system to serve Connecticut ratepayers,” said Advanced Energy United Connecticut Policy Lead Kat Burnham. “We look forward to working with Chairman Gillett and Commissioner Arconti to bolster Connecticut’s energy system performance, improve grid resilience, and lower costs for consumers.” 

As former chair of the Energy & Technology Committee in the Connecticut House of Representatives, Arconti played a key role in shaping the state’s energy policy. Gillett, who has served as PURA’s chair since 2019, has led efforts to modernize utility regulation and expand clean energy opportunities. 

“With their leadership and expertise at PURA, Connecticut is well-positioned to deliver a more reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy system,” added Burnham. “We stand ready to support their efforts to drive innovation and investment in the state’s energy future.”

Anticipation builds for the latest round of offshore wind solicitation in New England 

BOSTON, MA – The southern New England states are poised to receive a robust set of competitive proposals from offshore wind developers in the upcoming offshore wind solicitation spanning Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. In addition to the unique three-state collaboration, the recent guidance from the U.S. Department of Treasury should provide this round of bidding with an abundance of options to deliver clean energy solutions, foster economic development, and secure savings for utility ratepayers. 

"This solicitation marks a significant step towards revitalizing offshore wind projects in the United States,” stated Jeremy McDiarmid, Managing Director at Advanced Energy United. “We anticipate a highly competitive landscape, with established developers vying to contribute innovative solutions to meet New England’s energy needs.”
