The Solar For All program is giving out $7 billion in funding from the Inflation Reduction Act

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced 60 grants, worth up to $7 billion, for states, territories, Tribal governments, municipalities, and nonprofits for its Solar for All program. The program is expected to benefit over 900,000 households in low-income communities and generate roughly $350 million in annual energy savings by increasing access to affordable, resilient, and clean solar and storage technology.

WASHINGTON, DC – National business association Advanced Energy United released the following statement of support prior to the commencement of Confirmation Hearings for nominees David Rosner, Judy Chang, and Lindsay See to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) before the Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee.

"FERC plays an essential role ensuring that the U.S. has an affordable and reliable energy system, which is especially critical as we swiftly transition toward a 100 percent advanced energy economy,” said Caitlin Marquis, Managing Director at Advanced Energy United. "FERC is most capable of deliberating on the vital and complex issues before it when it has a full contingent of Commissioners. As such, we welcome the work of this committee and the Senate as a whole to swiftly consider these nominations from President Biden."

“We must harness the incredible power of advanced energy technologies to reduce harmful emissions while also lowering energy costs, creating economic opportunity for Americans in all states, and building an energy system we can rely on. As witnessed in recent events across the country, our aging, fossil-fueled electricity system is leaving households and businesses vulnerable to outages. We can fix this by updating our energy infrastructure and doubling down on clean energy and storage investments. The longer we wait, the harder and more expensive this work becomes, jeopardizing more lives and the economic well-being of local businesses and economies.

This year may forever be remembered as the start of the American clean energy manufacturing boom.

Since the beginning of 2023, companies have announced more than 150 separate investments in new and expanded factories to manufacture solar panels, wind turbines, batteries, and other clean energy technologies in the U.S., for a total pledged outlay of nearly $60 billion, according to tracking by the nonpartisan group E2. And these factories won’t just be assembling the final products. Entire supply chains have arrived on shore.
