Advanced energy business group urges ACC to finalize proposed energy rules to provide regulatory certainty to continue growth

PHOENIX, August 17, 2021 — A new analysis commissioned by the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC), while acknowledging that it is unable to project long-term costs to consumers, finds that transitioning to clean and advanced energy options is “reliable and cost-effective” in the near-term.

“The report shows that clean and advanced energy solutions in Arizona can be both reliable and cost-effective with today’s technology,” said Shelby Stults, a principal at Advanced Energy Economy (AEE), a national business group representing companies working to make the energy we use secure, clean, and affordable. “Arizona is full of potential when it comes to providing solar power, energy storage, and other advanced energy technologies. Posted by Cayli Baker on Aug 17, 2021

At 83,000 jobs, the state’s advanced energy industry employs four times more Hoosiers than auto manufacturing.

INDIANAPOLIS, August 17, 2021 – Indiana Advanced Energy Economy (AEE) released its Indiana jobs fact sheet, demonstrating the advanced energy industry’s economic promise across the state. “In spite of economic downturns nationwide, advanced energy jobs in Indiana should see a strong rebound in 2021,” said Caryl Auslander, director at Indiana AEE. “The advanced energy industry has proven it is ready to lead our post-COVID recovery, with employers projecting 6 percent job growth for the state. Not only do these jobs offer quality employment for Hoosiers, they spur added cost savings for consumers and create overall economic growth for our state.”

New report finds U.S. electric transportation industry is projected to nearly double over five years, creating an additional 141,000 jobs, with additional 2 million workers able to quickly retrain to benefit from market growth

WASHINGTON, DC, August 11, 2021 — Today national business group Advanced Energy Economy (AEE) released an analysis quantifying the nationwide economic benefits of a growing electric transportation industry. As demand for electric vehicles (EVs) and investment in EV charging infrastructure grows, industry employment is expected to double from 2019 levels to nearly 300,000 jobs by 2024.

“Economic opportunities will ripple throughout the supply chain and maintenance sectors as the domestic electric vehicle industry grows quickly over the next few years,” said Ryan Gallentine, policy director at AEE. “The electric vehicle industry already employs people across all 50 states, and policymakers should expand those opportunities with incentive programs that make it easier for consumers and business fleets to fully electrify.”

The report, Building an Electric Transportation Economy in the United States," produced by BW Research Partnership for AEE, analyzes the current electric transportation industry across the U.S.
