Joining a Western RTO would power economic growth and save residents millions in annual energy costs.

December 6, 2022 – Joining a Western RTO would create thousands of permanent jobs and save ratepayers millions of dollars in annual energy costs, according to new data from Advanced Energy Economy. The findings fromthree new state-specific reportsfor Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona are based on a recent west-wide analysis conducted by independent consulting firm Energy Strategies on behalf of AEE that examined the economic impact of establishing a regional power grid.

The Department found imports of certain solar panel components circumvented existing U.S. tariffs on China.

WASHINGTON, Dec. 2, 2022 – Today, national business association Advanced Energy Economy reacted to the Department of Commerce’s preliminary determination that Chinese solar companies were circumventing U.S. trade restrictions. The investigation found that a number of Chinese solar companies were dodging existing tariffs by routing products through Southeast Asian nations. President Biden previously extended a 24-month pause on new solar tariffs, which is expected to forestall the immediate impacts of this determination on the solar industry.

CARSON CITY, September 28, 2022 — A new analysis shows Nevada would see significant economic benefits from joining a regional electric grid with neighboring states. The study, conducted by independent consulting firm Energy Strategies on behalf of business association Advanced Energy Economy (AEE), found that joining a regional transmission organization (RTO) could generate upwards of $2 billion in new Gross State Product (GSP) for Nevada and upwards of 20,000 permanent, living-wage jobs across diverse sectors of the economy.

Outpacing overall U.S. job growth, the advanced energy workforce took a strong upturn in 2021, employing 3.4 million workers at the end of 2021 and bouncing back from COVID-19 disruptions.

WASHINGTON, D.C., August 25, 2022 — Today, national business group Advanced Energy Economy (AEE) applauded the California Air Resource Board decision to require 100% of all new light-duty vehicle sales in the state be zero-emission by 2035. Referred to as the Advanced Clean Cars II (ACCII) rule, the move is the next step in the state’s Clean Cars program, which has helped create a national market for more efficient, less polluting vehicles. More than a dozen states have adopted California’s previous vehicle emission standards, as the federal Clean Air Act allows.
