SB 596 encourages deployment of electric vehicles, sets up processes for charging infrastructure development and utility EV programs.

WASHINGTON, D.C., November 19, 2019 – Today, national business organization Advanced Energy Economy (AEE) applauded the state Senate for passing SB 596*, the Pennsylvania Clean Transportation Infrastructure Act. The vote was 43-6. The bipartisan bill sets a 2030 goal for electric vehicle (EV) deployment in the state that is at least 50% higher than current market forecasts, establishes a system for determining the charging infrastructure required to support those goals, and lays out a process for utility EV programs to be evaluated by the Public Utility Commission. Today, Pennsylvania is the seventh largest vehicle market in the nation**.

Business group applauds Gov. Northam for issuing Executive Order for the Commonwealth to reach 100% clean energy sources by 2050

RICHMOND, September 17, 2019 — Today, business group Virginia Advanced Energy Economy (Virginia AEE) reacted to Governor Northam's Executive Order calling for the Commonwealth to use 100% clean energy to meet its electric power needs by 2050. The Governor's plan includes more immediate goals focused on the deployment of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and battery storage over the next decade.

This represents more workers than those in Hospitals (60,401), and double those working in Mining, Oil & Gas Extraction (28,410) across the state.

More Indiana Workers in Advanced Energy Than in Auto Parts Manufacturing, Nearly Double Those Working at Schools and Colleges — Strong 4% Growth Expected in 2019

Latest employment data shows growth of advanced energy jobs was four times the state’s overall jobs growth in 2018, with a 4% increase expected by employers for 2019

INDIANAPOLIS, August 26, 2019 — Today, business group Indiana Advanced Energy Economy (Indiana AEE) reported the latest employment data, which shows that Indiana has 90,600 people working in advanced energy. This represents significantly more workers than those in Auto Parts Manufacturing (64,873), and nearly double those working at Schools, Colleges, and Training Programs (52,217) across the Hoosier state. The U.S. employs 3.5 million people in advanced energy jobs nationally.
