If signed, it will create duplicative oversight that will delay decisions from the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC), the body that regulates the state’s energy system and utilities. This policy will hurt Arizona ratepayers and the business community by eliminating the regulatory certainty needed for reliable and affordable energy. After being amended on the floor, the bill passed out of the House of Representatives on Monday April 25 with a vote of 31 to 28 and one abstention. It was sent back to the Senate for a final reading, where it passed 16 to 14.
