SACRAMENTO, CA – A coalition of California lawmakers led by Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin have introduced Assembly Bill (AB) 1999, which would repeal a prior bill authorizing the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) to implement a fixed-charge billing system for residential electricity bills based on household income. Instead, AB 1999 would cap utility fixed charges at $10.

HARRISBURG, PA – More than $13.1 billion could be invested in Pennsylvania over the next seven years, and 129,000 jobs could be created, if policymakers increase the Commonwealth’s clean energy standards in line with Governor Shapiro’s ‘30% renewable energy by 2030’ campaign pledge, according to a new report released today by three business associations, Advanced Energy United, MAREC Action, and American Clean Power Association.

DENVER, CO— The Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC) voted to move forward with an amended version of Xcel’s Phase II of their 2021 Electric Resource Plan (ERP). While the newly approved ERP invests less in new renewable energy sources than was initially proposed by the utility, and commits to new gas generation, it continues steady progress toward a zero-carbon grid and makes important reforms for the future.

WASHINGTON, DC — Today a coalition of business leaders, clean energy advocates, and environmental organizations launched “Transmission Possible,” a new campaign to build support at the local, state, and federal levels for upgrading America’s energy transmission infrastructure. Transmission Possible is led by the industry association Advanced Energy United and includes the American Council on Renewable Energy, Americans for a Clean Energy Grid, the National Wildlife Federation, the Environmental League of Massachusetts, and the Northeast Clean Energy Council.

NJ Board of Public Utilities Announces Offshore Wind Solicitation Awards Totaling 3,742 Megawatts
TRENTON, NJ – The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities today granted two offshore wind solicitation awards, totaling 3,742 MW of capacity, enough to power 1.8 million homes when fully operational. The BPU announced awards for the Leading Light Wind project from Invenergy and energyRe, and the Attentive Energy II project from TotalEnergies and Corio Generation. Today’s awards were granted as part of New Jersey’s Third Solicitation for Offshore Wind Renewable Energy Certificates (OREC).
