United calls on Biden Administration to nominate additional candidates to fill out commissioners
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, national business group Advanced Energy United congratulated Willie Phillips on his elevation to Chair of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), and urged expedient nomination of additional Commissioners to restore a full complement to FERC.
Caitlin Marquis, Managing Director at Advanced Energy United, released the following statement:
"Chair Phillips has led on critical issues, including finalizing much-needed reforms to interconnection that received unanimous support from the Commission. He has made clear that transmission planning, further interconnection reform, and electric reliability are priorities for the Commission, and his elevation to Chair will allow him to continue this important work. Advanced Energy United looks forward to continuing to work with Chair Phillips to secure progress on improving grid reliability and supporting a smooth and expedient energy transition.
“As FERC continues work on these issues and takes up additional priorities, Advanced Energy United asks that the Biden Administration quickly nominate new commissioners eager to tackle the challenges and opportunities facing the electricity system, ensuring that FERC is wholly staffed and equipped to take on critical energy sector issues.”
