Report shows that proposed $600 billion in federal stimulus investments for advanced energy infrastructure could create millions of jobs, save consumers billions in energy costs, and add $3.5 trillion to U.S. GDP.

WASHINGTON, D.C., June 24, 2021 — Today, national business association Advanced Energy Economy (AEE) released a report quantifying the benefits of proposed national stimulus infrastructure investment in the advanced energy sector. An investment of $600 billion would add $3.5 trillion to the national economy, create more than 28 million new jobs (in job years), generate over $600 billion in annual tax revenue at all levels of government, and save consumers over $74 billion annually on energy costs. The report was released in the midst of active negotiations on an infrastructure package to be considered by Congress.

AEE Joins Governor’s Signing Ceremony for Landmark Regional Electricity Grid and Transmission Bill

Governor Jared Polis signed bipartisan Senate Bill 72, calling for a multi-state, regionally interconnected electricity system to improve grid resilience, reliability, and reduce customers’ energy costs.

DENVER, June 24, 2021 — Today, national business group Advanced Energy Economy (AEE) participated in the signing ceremony for Senate Bill 72* (SB 21-072) by Governor Jared Polis. SB 72 enables critical investments in the electricity infrastructure needed to reliably transport clean energy across the state and region, and requires state utilities to join a regional transmission organization (RTO) by 2030. The bipartisan bill was passed by the House on June 3 (vote 49-15).

DENVER, June 17, 2021 — Today, national business group Advanced Energy Economy (AEE) joined Colorado Governor Jared Polis for the Senate Bill 21-260* (SB 260) signing ceremony at Floyd Hill. The bill creates three new state electrification enterprises and assures comprehensive transportation funding for the state, investing over $730 million to accelerate Colorado’s zero-emission vehicle market over the next decade. The bipartisan legislation was previously approved by the House on June 2, 2021 by a vote of 41-24.
