Introducing: UnlockingAdvancedEnergy.com
WASHINGTON, DC – National business association Advanced Energy United has launched a new website and campaign that tells the story of how advanced energy companies are using smart tax cuts to unlock American energy abundance, open new U.S. manufacturing plants, and lower household electricity costs in states across the country.
The website, UnlockingAdvancedEnergy.com, features the real stories of advanced energy projects – including a coal field converted into a solar farm in Southwest Virginia, a Central Pennsylvania church saving money thanks to a rooftop solar installation, a new battery manufacturing facility in California, and the deployment of an emissions-free school bus fleet in Illinois’s smallest county – that were only made possible thanks to the existing tax cuts that are at risk of being shelved by Congress despite the economic growth, cost savings, and access to grid resilience solutions they are enabling.
“Across the country, from Pittsburgh to Phoenix and beyond, these tax cuts have been the key to unlocking a manufacturing renaissance, bolstering our energy independence, and creating millions of new jobs in America,” said Heather O’Neill, President and CEO at Advanced Energy United. “Amid extreme weather, high prices, and growing electricity needs, these are essential investments for a resilient, prosperous, and energy abundant America.”
The new website, UnlockingAdvancedEnergy.com, provides specific examples of how each of the tax credits are being used to create a positive return-on-investment for communities across America. Recent analysis found that a set of ten tax cuts are poised to generate $3 trillion in economic benefits, save households $846 billion, and create 13.7 million American jobs.
Advanced energy – including but not limited to solar, wind, storage, geothermal, nuclear, advanced transmission technologies, aggregated local power systems like distributed energy resources and virtual power plants, and other proven, emissions-free technologies – work in unison to increase grid capacity and provide both intermittent and baseload power resources, providing low-cost electricity and helping to prevent against blackouts during extreme weather events. Advanced energy resources made up 96% of new U.S. power capacity added to the grid in 2024.
The advanced energy industry employs over 4 million Americans across all 50 states working to lower consumer costs while providing the full range of clean, efficient, and reliable energy and transportation solutions. From 2022 to 2023, advanced energy employment nationwide increased by 4%, more than double the growth rate of the U.S. labor market overall.
