[San Francisco, January 21, 2016] – Today, Advanced Energy Economy released the following statement on the occasion of California Governor Brown’s State of the State address.
“Under Governor Brown’s leadership, we can say that the state of California’s advanced energy industry is strong and leading the charge as we work to build a prosperous economy for California running on secure, clean, affordable energy,” said Steve Chadima, Senior Vice President and Director of California Initiatives at Advanced Energy Economy, a national business group. “AEE and our member companies look forward to working with the Governor and legislative leaders on maintaining market certainty as we reduce carbon emissions beyond 2020, deploying the cost-effective use of cap-and-trade funds, and providing advanced energy transportation options for all."
Last year, California’s advanced energy industry grew to employ an estimated 500,000 people across the state deploying a number of technologies and services that are detailed in a new compendium, This Is Advanced Energy, available for download here. This new catalogue profiles 52 distinct technologies and services that make up advanced energy today: how they work, how they are currently deployed, and how they are changing our energy system. From building efficiency to wind and solar power, and from demand response to electric vehicles, advanced energy is being used to lower costs for consumers, improve reliability and resiliency, offer more customer choice and control, and increase market competition.
