The revenues for both wind and solar are up over 2015, writes Michael Copely in SNL, using AEE's 2016 Market Report as evidence. From the article:
Revenue in the U.S. wind and solar power markets grew to $37 billion in 2015 as the broader "advanced energy" sector expanded about 1% to $200 billion, Navigant Research and Advanced Energy Economy said in a March 3 report.
Solar photovoltaic revenue was up 21% last year at $22.6 billion while wind revenues grew 75% to $14.4 billion. Revenue in the building efficiency sector, the biggest slice of the advanced energy market, increased almost 11% to $63.6 billion. The emerging storage market expanded by more than 1,000% to $734 million, according to the groups' report, "Advanced Energy Now 2016 Market Report."
