Richard, CEO of AEE, a high-profile national trade group representing energy-focused companies in the clean-tech industry, praised SB 350's goals. Advanced energy and clean-tech represented a $200 billion market in California in 2015 and total jobs associated with the industry could exceed 500,000 by the end of the year, according to AEE.

Richard acknowledged the scale of ambition behind the policy and said it “represents significant opportunity for business in the state” and for the industry to push the boundaries even further.
