PV Magazine covered AEE's new report, Advanced Energy Now 2015 Market Report, citing its findings about the size and scope of the advanced energy market. 

In Advanced Energy Now 2015 Market Report, now available for download here, we found that energy efficiency is the largest segment of this nearly $1.3 trillion global market. Washington, D.C. – At nearly $1.3 trillion in estimated global revenue for 2014, the market for advanced energy products and services is as large as apparel and fashion and almost four times the size of the semiconductor industry worldwide, according to a report commissioned by Advanced Energy Economy (AEE), a national business association. In the United States, advanced energy market revenue grew 14% last year – five times the rate of the U.S. economy overall – to just under $200 billion, making it bigger than the airline industry, equal to pharmaceuticals, and nearly equal to consumer electronics in this country.

“This order from the Public Service Commission is a huge step toward a better energy future for New York State,” said Lisa Frantzis, Senior Vice President, Advanced Energy Economy, a national business organization. “This order provides a framework for bringing exciting new options to customers for meeting their electricity needs flexibly, reliably, and affordably. We commend Chair Zibelman and the Commission for their leadership in charting a course that will maximize the value of distributed energy resources for households, businesses, and the economy.”

U.S. & World Report ran a story recently featuring a quote from a report released by Brattle Group and Commissioned by Advanced Energy Economy Institute. The article, "Changes 'on the Table' for Federal Carbon-Cutting Plan," covers possible revisions to the Clean Power Plan before it is finalized this summer. When it comes to reliability as it relates to the Clean Power Plan, U.S. News writes:

In November 2014, the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) issued an “initial reliability review” in which it identified elements of the CPP that could lead to reliability concerns. Echoed by some grid operators and cited in comments to EPA submitted by states, utilities, and industry groups, the NERC study has made reliability a critical issue in finalizing, and then implementing, the Clean Power Plan.    In order to gain insight on the issue, the Advanced Energy Economy Institute commissioned The Brattle Group, a leading consulting firm to utilities and grid operators, to conduct a critical review of the NERC study.
