WASHINGTON, D.C., October 23, 2023 – National business group Advanced Energy United (United) announced that Megan Beauregard, Chief Legal Officer and Head of Policy and Regulatory Affairs at Enel North America, was elected Chair of United’s Board of Directors. A longtime Leader-level member of United, Enel North America is committed to tackling climate change by electrifying the economy and making a net-zero carbon future possible in the United States and Canada. As Chair of the Board of Directors, Beauregard will support United’s mission of expanding the advanced energy industry in the U.S., which grew to nearly $375 billion in 2022, and accelerating America’s transition to a 100% clean energy future.
“We are very fortunate to have a proven clean energy industry leader in Megan Beauregard as the new Chair of the Board of Advanced Energy United,” said Heather O’Neill, President and CEO of Advanced Energy United. “Megan is widely recognized for her expertise and leadership and recently shared her perspectives on the world stage at the UN’s Global Compact Leaders Summit during New York Climate Week. Her broad legal and energy industry experience has made her a great partner, and we look forward to her continued guidance on our strategy and approach to transforming America’s energy systems.”
“Advanced Energy United brings together leaders in the advanced energy industry to tackle the complex and interconnected challenges facing our power and transportation systems," said Beauregard, who first joined United’s Board in 2022. “For over two decades, Enel has been working to provide advanced clean energy solutions across North America, and thanks to the work of United, companies like Enel can collaborate with other like-minded enterprises to solve some of the biggest policy challenges to the clean energy transition. United shares Enel's vision of a clean energy future and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to continue working with industry leaders in this role to expand the market for the advanced energy technologies and solutions that are creating jobs, growing the economy, and accelerating America’s path to a clean energy future.”
As Chief Legal Officer and Secretary of Enel North America, Beauregard is responsible for all of Enel’s legal interests in the U.S. and Canada, and is also Head of Policy and Regulatory Affairs for all of Enel’s U.S. and Canadian business lines. Prior to joining Enel, Beauregard was an attorney with the law firm Wiggin & Nourie, P.A. and holds a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School, as well as a B.A. in European History and International Relations from Boston University. With deep New England roots, Beauregard is also involved with several local charities and organizations, particularly those that uplift women in STEM and energy industries.
Beauregard replaces Prasanna Venkatesan, who is stepping down from his role on United’s Board as his position at Landis+Gyr changes. “We are deeply appreciative of Prasanna’s service over the past several years, his dedication to United’s mission, and his ongoing support for our organization,” added O’Neill.
