Prasanna Venkatesan, EVP and Head of Americas, Landis+Gyr, will chair national business group; three new AEE board members named; immediate past chair and co-founder Hemant Taneja remains a board member of affiliated Advanced Energy Economy Institute.
WASHINGTON, D.C., June 3, 2021 – Today, national business group Advanced Energy Economy (AEE) announced that Prasanna Venkatesan, EVP and Head of Americas, Landis+Gyr (SWX: LAND) was elected chairman of the AEE board, where he has served as a director since 2015. In this role, Venkatesan will support the national business group’s efforts to accelerate the growth of secure, clean, affordable energy in the United States. The U.S. advanced energy market totals more than $240 billion in revenue, about equal to pharmaceutical manufacturing and approaching wholesale consumer electronics; and supports more than 3.2 million U.S. workers.

As AEE begins its second decade, Venkatesan will lead the organization’s governance along with leaders from Apex Clean Energy, CLEAResult, Enel X North America (SWX: ENEL), LS Power, Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT), Modern Energy, Pattern Energy, Schneider Electric (PA: SU), and TRC Companies.
Also today, three new directors joined AEE’s boards:
- Len Diplock, SVP of Corporate Development and Strategy, CLEAResult, is responsible for leading in strategy, competitive analysis, financial planning, project management and M&A, and joins the AEE board.
- Nathan Hanson, SVP of Energy and Commercial Management, LS Power, oversees the energy and commercial arrangements which ensure smooth and cost-efficient operations of the firm’s assets, and joins the AEE Board.
- Vicki Trees, Regional Sales Director, Landis+Gyr, is responsible for bringing industry and customer perspectives together to develop solutions that address today’s energy challenges - working directly with utilities, trade associations, consultants, regulators and other industry influencers - and joins the board of AEE’s affiliate, Advanced Energy Works.
Hemant Taneja, co-founder and immediate past chairman of AEE, remains a member of the board of Advanced Energy Economy Institute (AEE Institute), the educational and research affiliate of AEE. Taneja is managing director of General Catalyst Partners, a leading venture capital firm investing in responsible innovation.
