Hyatt's 2012 CSR report discloses the company's investment of more than $37 million into more than 200 energy efficiency projects, according to Triple Pundit. The hotel chain is working to reduce its energy consumption, and has already succeeded in dropping energy consumption 11 percent per square meter between 2006 and 2012. Other highlights from Hyatt's 2012 CSR report are a LEED certification for its headquarters in Chicago, efficient lighting fixtures in 90 percent of the company's hotels, and energy management systems in 35% of its hotels, which allows for remote control of thermostats after guests checkout.
