The U.S. Department of Energy has announced a new Clean Energy Manufacturing Initiative, which is focused on boosting American manufacturing of cleaner energy technologies and boosting U.S. competitiveness through major improvements in manufacturing energy productivity. Advanced Energy Economy has issued the following statement on the new program:
“I applaud the Department of Energy for launching the Clean Energy Manufacturing Initiative,” said Graham Richard, CEO of Advanced Energy Economy, a national business organization of companies working to make energy secure, clean, and affordable. “Our research shows advanced energy to be a $1 trillion global market. Serving that market is a tremendous opportunity for American companies and American workers. Keeping the United States at the cutting edge of advanced energy manufacturing is essential to realizing that opportunity. At the same time, applying advanced energy solutions will help all of American manufacturing become more competitive at home and in world markets. I could not be more pleased to see DOE take on this challenge.”
