Clean Energy Business Group Supports Governor Polis' Executive Leadership on Clean Energy Amid Federal Rollbacks

Colorado Governor’s leadership is a critical move to position Colorado to weather federal rollbacks and safeguard the state’s clean energy future

DENVER, CO – Today, Colorado Governor Jared Polis issued an executive letter aimed at accelerating the deployment of tax credit-eligible clean energy projects in Colorado.

National business association Advanced Energy United strongly supports this move and its potential to shield Colorado from the economic and environmental consequences of the federal rollbacks from H.R.1.

"Colorado's swift response to the devastating impacts of H.R. 1 shows true leadership at a critical moment for our economy and clean energy goals," said Emilie Olson, Colorado lead at Advanced Energy United. "We don't need to wait on the federal government to make progress on the clean energy future that our state leaders have committed to. Today's executive action from the Governor reinforces that Colorado is not skipping a beat in making sure we are preserving certainty for the clean energy industry and strong state policies that have gotten us this far."

Advanced Energy United commends Colorado leaders for stepping up to the plate to follow through on the state's commitments and remain a beacon for clean energy progress in the West. We urge other Governors to follow this example in marshalling a whole-of-government response and doing what is in their power to maintain American competitiveness in the clean energy industry.

Simultaneously, Advanced Energy United applauds today's launch of Colorado's Energy Savings Navigator tool designed to help homeowners, renters, and building owners access local, state, and federal tax credits and rebates for home electrification and energy efficiency upgrades, from rooftop solar and battery storage installation to electric appliances and electric vehicle credits before they expire.

"Programs like this will link Coloradans to incentives that will lower their energy bills and further protect them from rising costs, support local jobs, as well as continue propelling us forward and keeping clean energy accessible," Olson added.
