Maryland's Governor O'Malley signed the state's first ever offshore wind measure passed through the legislature earlier this year. Graham Richard, CEO of AEE, released the following statement:

"Congratulations to Governor O'Malley and the Maryland legislature for their leadership in accelerating the development of an offshore wind industry in the United States," said Graham Richard, CEO of Advanced Energy Economy, a national business association. "Harnessing the power of the wind just a few miles off the East Coast offers a much needed source of clean electricity near major load centers and promises significant job creation. AEE was proud to support this bill in the legislature, and is pleased to see it become law."
