Last month AEEI released an advanced energy employment survey for the state of Iowa, catologuing the number of firms and employees delivering energy efficiency, advanced fuels, wind power, and other facets of the advanced energy industry. More than 1,300 advanced energy jobs could be added in Iowa next year, according to a survey recently released by Advanced Energy Economy Institute.
The first-time survey of Iowa firms projected a 6 percent employment growth rate in the coming year. If these estimates hold true, the number of advanced energy jobs in the Hawkeye State would increase to nearly 24,000 in 2015. [...]
Rick Dickinson, president and CEO of Greater Dubuque Development Corp., said Iowa has long been considered a leader in renewable energy based on its location and weather, which have helped jump-start the state's wind industry.
