Advanced Energy United issued a statement thanking Commissioner and former Chairman Phillips for his work to modernize America’s grid and collaborate with stakeholders across the energy supply chain
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, in response to the announcement that Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Commissioner and former Chair Willie Phillips will be leaving the Commission, Advanced Energy United Managing Director Caitlin Marquis issued the following statement:
"We sincerely thank Commissioner Phillips for his role in reforming critical energy issues during his tenure as Chairman and as a Commissioner at FERC. He has championed policies that empower stakeholders and make America’s grid stronger, guiding the Commission to modernize transmission planning, generator interconnection, and electric reliability. He has worked tirelessly to build consensus on difficult issues, and his legacy at FERC to keep America’s lights on and power our economy will continue for many years.
Looking ahead, Advanced Energy United is eager to work with Chairman Mark Christie and Commissioners Judy Chang, David Rosner, and Lindsay See to continue progress on grid reliability, solutions that bolster competition, and efforts to lower costs for consumers and secure America’s energy independence. As the Administration considers candidates to fill the Commissioner seat, we urge them to consider someone who will prioritize robust competition, work to modernize regulations to reflect new technologies and innovations, and promote regulatory certainty.”
