electric vehicle charging policyAEE spearheaded a successful effort in the Colorado legislature this year to expand energy performance contracting for public agencies to fleet vehicles – a concept that could serve as a model for other states.  The legislation was conceived and drafted in cooperation with McKinstry and Schneider Electric, two companies actively engaged in energy performance contracts throughout the country.

State RPS battles wonThis is the year of the stress test for state Renewable Portfolio Standards – and so far, they are passing with flying colors. 


The Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal have both written about the blowback to state renewable energy mandates instigated by the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). But so far, these anti-RPS efforts have fizzled.

STATE UPDATE: AEL Tracker Follows Legislation and Trends

Advanced Energy LegislativeThe Advanced Energy Legislative Tracker (AEL Tracker) debuted this week, putting all legislation related to advanced energy pending in all 50 states just a mouse click away.


Advanced Energy Economy partnered with with Colorado State University’s Center for the New Energy Economy to develop AEL Tracker. The searchable online database is the first of its kind, allowing the user to search by policy category, state and keyword. The resulting information allows users to find legislation quickly and easily while also tracking the status of bills through the legislative process.  In total, 2,228 bills are now covered by AEL Tracker.
