Amy Heart Named Chair of the Board of Directors

Advanced Energy United is pleased to announce that Amy Heart, Senior Vice President of Public Policy at Sunrun, has been elected Chair of Advanced Energy United’s Board of Directors.

Sunrun is an energy industry leader with a proven track record as a policy and business model innovator, and shares United’s commitment to building a future powered by clean energy. As Chair of the Board of Directors, Heart will support United’s mission of growing the advanced energy industry in the U.S., which employs over 4 million American workers, and accelerating America’s transition to a 100% clean energy future.

“Expanding market opportunities with policy solutions is at the heart of what we do at Advanced Energy United, and we’re fortunate to have Amy Heart as an industry leader who understands this very well,” said Heather O’Neill, President and CEO of Advanced Energy United. “Amy Heart has proven to be an excellent strategist and leader during her two years on our Board and many years as an industry ally, and I’m excited to continue our partnership in her new role as Chair.”

Amy Heart leads Sunrun’s policy team, working to protect and expand access to home solar and battery solutions, and developing policies to leverage these solutions to help our overall grid. Heart is widely recognized for her expertise and leadership, serving on industry association boards and on the Public Utility Commission of Texas’s Aggregated DER Task Force, which is helping to grow the market for distributed energy resources (DERs) by leveraging virtual power plants (VPPs).

“Advanced Energy United brings together leaders from across a varied but interconnected industry because we’re better able to tackle complex challenges when we work together,” said Amy Heart, Chair of the Board of Advanced Energy United. “Since 2007, Sunrun has been working to provide clean energy solutions across America, and thanks to the work of United, Sunrun collaborates productively with companies from a diverse range of technology solutions to expand the market for the entire advanced energy industry. United shares Sunrun’s vision of a clean energy future, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to continue working with industry leaders to create economic opportunity, grow the economy, and meet America’s growing energy needs with advanced energy.”

Heart assumes the role of Chair following the exit of Megan Beauregard, who recently stepped down from her position of Chief Legal Officer at Enel after 16 years at the company. Moving forward, joining the Board on behalf of Enel North America is Mona Tierney-Lloyd, Head of Regulatory & Institutional Affairs. Mona has extensive policy and regulatory experience spanning over 30 years in various capacities with leading U.S. energy companies, as well as leadership roles with several industry associations.
