The Nevada Advanced Energy Jobs fact sheet highlights the latest available employment data, anticipated growth, industry comparisons, and top five counties for jobs. 

Advanced energy employs 3.4 million workers across the United States, supporting more jobs than retail stores and twice as many as hotels and motels.

These are some of the findings of AEE’s analysis of the latest data on energy sector employment. 

Our energy system is going through a period of transformational change. Evolving consumer preferences, dynamic new technologies and services, and the need to replace aging infrastructure are creating new opportunities for states across the country to modernize the energy sector.

The $200 billion national advanced energy market is already benefiting Nevada’s economy. In 2018, the clean energy industry supported more than 25,000 jobs across the state in sectors such as solar, geothermal and energy efficiency.

Our energy system is going through a period of transformational change. Evolving consumer preferences, dynamic new technologies and services, and the need to replace aging infrastructure are creating new opportunities for states across the country to modernize the energy sector.

The $200 billion national advanced energy market is already benefiting New Mexico’s economy. The advanced energy industry now supports more than 11,000 jobs across the state in sectors such as solar, wind and energy efficiency and is poised to provide the technology and services that can accelerate the transition to a new era of clean, secure, affordable energy.

Our energy system is going through a transformational change. Evolving consumer preferences, dynamic new technologies, and the need to replace aging infrastructure are all contributing to a rapidly changing energy landscape. And with this change, comes opportunity.

In addition to supporting over a half million jobs in California and 3.4 million jobs across the United States, the advanced energy industry is poised to provide the technology and know-how to accelerate the transition to a new era of secure, clean, affordable energy.

In Virginia, several voluntary renewable energy tariffs have been introduced by the state’s two largest investor-owned utilities, Dominion Energy and Appalachian Power Co. Customers also have the option to purchase renewable energy from competitive service providers, with certain restrictions.

The challenge is: are current options sufficient to meet the growing demands of Virginia’s diverse businesses that want renewable energy to power their operations?
