The $200 billion national advanced energy market is already benefiting New Mexico’s economy. The advanced energy industry now supports more than 11,000 jobs across the state in sectors such as solar, wind and energy efficiency and is poised to provide the technology and services that can accelerate the transition to a new era of clean, secure, affordable energy.

The next governor of New Mexico has the opportunity to harness the economic power of the advanced energy industry to grow the economy and create more high quality jobs.

As business associations comprised of advanced energy companies and corporate energy buyers working to modernize the energy grid, Advanced Energy Economy (AEE) and Interwest Energy Alliance (Interwest) have identified six priorities that will allow the next governor to pursue an economic development agenda that takes full advantage of the potential of advanced energy.
