Advanced energy resources are already modernizing our economy and energy system. Today, the industry stands at $200 billion in annual revenue supporting 3.4 million jobs across the United States.

Without counting ethanol revenue, which has been in decline in recent years, the U.S. advanced energy market grew 5% percent in 2016, three times the growth of U.S. GDP. Growth is expected to continue as costs decline rapidly in renewable energy, energy storage systems, and electric vehicles, among other technologies.

Our energy system is going through a period of transformational change. Evolving consumer preferences, dynamic new technologies and services, dramatically declining prices and the need to replace aging infrastructure are creating new opportunities for states across the country to modernize the energy sector.

Supporting over 62,000 jobs in Colorado, the advanced energy industry is already a significant part of the state’s economy and is poised to provide the tools to further accelerate the transition to a new era of clean, secure, and affordable energy.
