Our energy system is going through a period of transformational change. Evolving consumer preferences, dynamic new technologies and services, and the need to replace aging infrastructure are creating new opportunities for states across the country to modernize the energy sector.
The next governor has an opportunity to harness the economic power of the clean energy industry to transform Minnesota’s economy and put the fight for quality jobs at the heart of a vision for the state’s energy future.
Already a significant part of Minnesota’s economy, the advanced energy industry supports over 59,000 jobs across the state.
As business associations comprised of clean energy companies and corporate energy buyers working to modernize the energy system, Advanced Energy Economy (AEE) and Clean Energy Economy Minnesota (CEEM) have identified six key priorities, as well as essential policy options and executive actions that will allow the next governor to pursue an economic development agenda that takes full advantage of the potential of clean energy and accelerates the state’s transition to a new era of secure, clean, and affordable energy.
