On Feb. 19 2019, Advanced Energy Economy announced it had filed an amicus brief with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit in support of petitions brought by 17 states, the District of Columbia, and others challenging the Environmental Protection Administration’s proposed rollback greenhouse gas emissions standards for light-duty vehicles.

Advanced energy resources are already modernizing our economy and energy system. Today, the industry stands at $200 billion in annual revenue supporting 3.4 million jobs across the United States.
Without counting ethanol revenue, which has been in decline in recent years, the U.S. advanced energy market grew 5% percent in 2016, three times the growth of U.S. GDP. Growth is expected to continue as costs decline rapidly in renewable energy, energy storage systems, and electric vehicles, among other technologies.

Advanced Energy Economy along with several energy trade group colleagues (API, AWEA, ELCON, EPSA and NGSA) commissioned an independent analysis of policy implementation and related direct costs of supporting uncompetitive coal and nuclear power plants proposed in a draft DOE memo released by Bloomberg News in May.
