As extreme weather, accelerating load growth, and beneficial electrification place new demands on our grid, the need to improve resiliency and reliability is intensifying for states, businesses, and consumers. At the same time, the Inflation Reduction Act and Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act are unleashing new resources to support the development of a more flexible and modernized grid.
Advanced Energy United, in partnership with NASEO, held a webinar focused on leveraging the Grid Innovation and Resilience Partnerships (GRIP) Program to build a more resilient and reliable grid. The webinar opened with a conversation with Colin Meehan of the U.S. Department of Energy's Grid Deployment Office, followed by a panel discussion.
Along with discussing the current opportunities associated with the GRIP Program, which recently opened the application process for its second round of funding, our expert panelists explored:
- What are the challenges to grid resilience and reliability states are experiencing?
- How can advanced energy technologies help meet those challenges in innovative, clean, and cost-effective ways?; and
