BOSTON, MA – Today, Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey signed into law a landmark clean energy bill that promises to streamline permitting and siting for clean energy projects, invest in grid-enhancing technologies, and establish energy storage targets. This historic legislation positions Massachusetts as a national leader in the clean energy transition while promoting equity and protecting ratepayers. National business association Advanced Energy United supported the bill throughout the legislative process.
“This new law cuts the red tape that has long-stymied clean energy projects, opening the door to new jobs and lower energy costs. Today, Massachusetts demonstrates that faster project deployment, a more reliable grid, and a cleaner, more equitable energy future is possible,” said United Massachusetts State Lead Kat Burnham. “This is the kind of leadership other states should be looking to follow."
