“Globally, renewable power sources accounted more than half of electricity demand in 2016, with hydroelectric generation responsible for half of renewable energy's share, according to the IEA. Global demand for zero- to low-carbon energy technologies increased 7% in 2016 to $1.4 trillion, more than twice last year's worldwide economic growth of 3.1%, according to a recent Advanced Energy Economy report.”
