San Francisco Chronicle's David Baker examines a proposed EV rebate for California. Already the largest EV market in the country, the new proposal, which is based on a rooftop solar program a decade ago, could mean huge things for the state's EV market. But, as AEE's Steve Chadima points out, it's not about Tesla. From the article:
Steve Chadima, senior vice president of Advanced Energy Economy, which represents businesses pushing for a low-carbon economy, said the bill had “nothing to do with Tesla.”
“The word ‘Tesla’ never passed anybody’s lips the entire time we were talking about how to construct this bill,” he said.
