RTO Insider: Utility-Solar Partnership Proposes Net Metering Overhaul

RTO Insider this week reported on the joint filing and discussions AEEI facilitated between utilities, solar companies, and other stakeholders in the New York Renewing the Energy Vision process. “At its core, the partnership’s proposal provides simplicity for customers, recognizes the locational value of clean [distributed energy resources] and attempts to resolve potential bill impacts, particularly to customers who are not participating in [net metering],” the filing states. [...]

The partnership said the proposal came out of discussions facilitated by the Advanced Energy Economy Institute.
