MidAmerican Energy Holdings announced it will add $700 million to its investment in the Antelope Valley Solar Project, a 579 MW project slated to produce power by 2015. MidAmerican Energy is a leading renewable energy developer with more than 6.4 gigawatts in its portfolio. Cleantechnica reports:
Other renewable energy investments in their portfolio include: $1.9 billion recently invested for Iowa-based wind farms; a 3 MW hydroelectric plant in Moline, Illinois; geothermal operations in California’s Imperial Valley; and a hydroelectric dam in the Philippines.
