IKEA PARTNERS WITH NON-PROFITS TO INSTALL BACKUP SOLAR IN NY, NJ

IKEA has announced its involvement in a project called Solar for Sandy. The project brings together several non-profit organizations, including the Clinton Global Initiative and private partners to equip community facilities with solar power systems. These community centers could offer residents access to charging, heat, air conditioning, and refrigeration if the neighborhood grid is compromised. The first projects will be in Far Rockaway, Queens, and Red Hook in Brooklyn. As we reported last year,advanced energy was a major boon to communities during the Superstorm.
