SAN FRANCISCO, January 8, 2021 – Today, national business group Advanced Energy Economy (AEE) released the following reaction to Governor Gavin Newsom's proposed budget for the state of California. The remarks come from Amisha Rai, managing director at Advanced Energy Economy:

"AEE looks forward to working with the Governor and the Legislature on a budget that accelerates economic recovery and gets Californians back to work. The Governor has outlined a strong investment plan to support California's advanced energy and clean transportation industry.

"The proposed $1.5B in funding to accelerate zero emission vehicle adoption and infrastructure development will create new jobs, spur manufacturing and supply chain development, and reduce electricity costs to ratepayers for years to come. It also expands access to clean transportation in every region of the state.

"With this strong starting point, we are committed to working with the Governor, Legislature, and our congressional delegation to ensure that California is able to address the ongoing pandemic while executing a solid plan for economic recovery, prosperity, and advanced energy growth."
