CAPE WIND SECURES $200 MILLION FROM DANISH FUND

A Danish pension fund invested $200 million in the Cape Wind offshore wind project, Cape Wind's president Jim Gordon announced. The PensionDenmark investment is the first "guaranteed financing commitment of a specific dollar amount" that's been announced, according the the Associated Press.

Cape Wind president Jim Gordon said PensionDanmark’s "important investment is a milestone in the Cape Wind project." Project spokesman Mark Rodgers said the fund is a respected global voice on offshore wind financing, and called its commitment "a great validation of the soundness and merits of the project." PensionDenmark's CEO Torben Moger Pedersen said, "It fits very well into our business portfolio," noting that the fund has already invested in two offshore wind projects in Denmark.
