WASHINGTON, D.C., January 21, 2021 — Today, national business group Advanced Energy Economy (AEE) reacted to the news that President Biden appointed Richard Glick to be Chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
"We are thrilled that President Biden has selected Richard Glick to be Chairman of FERC. Chairman Glick is an advanced energy champion who, in his time at the Commission, has worked tirelessly to put a focus on removing the barriers that prevent advanced energy technologies from competing on a level playing field in wholesale power markets," said Jeff Dennis, managing director and general counsel at AEE.
"He understands the need to retool and expand competitive wholesale power markets to align them with state and federal clean energy and climate policies, ensuring that they serve as a platform for a zero-carbon advanced energy future. We also look forward to Chairman Glick's leadership in optimizing the transmission grid to deliver the cost-effective advanced energy resources that customers are demanding," said Dennis.
